IN ABERDEENSHIRE WOMAN-GIRL GREENSOMES


A double-bogey 6 at the last hole cost the Aberdeen Ladies pairing of Sheena Wood and Lauren Whyte victory in the Aberdeenshire woman-girl greensomes competition at Oldmeldrum Golf Club today.
The drives of both players went out of bounds on to the practice putting area in front of the clubhouse. They finished on 74.
Victory, for the second year in a row, went to playing partners Donna Pocock (Murcar Links) and Mhairi Johnstone (Northern) who achieved a birdie 3 at the 18th,, which represented a three-stroke swing in their favour at the closing hole. They had a score of 73.
Aberdeen Ladies hockey team players Kathleen Thomson and her daughter Natalie (both Murcar Links) finished third with a 76.
