STEPHANIE RUNNER-UP ON JUNIOR
TOUR DEBUT IN FLORIDA

Irish girls champion Stephanie Meadow from Antrim, Northern Ireland, now a student at the International Junior Golf Academy in Florida, was almost a winner on her debut on the International Junior Golf Tour.
Stephanie had rounds of 74 and 76 for a total of 150 – one shot behind another IJGA pupil, Valentina Fontaine from Santiago, Chile in the IJGT event over the Greg Norman course at Champions Gate Golf Resort, Florida.
Valentina had rounds of 72 and 77 for 149.
A third IJGA student, Kiara Hayashida was a close third on 151 with 79 and 72.
A report of the tournament says: “The three girls kept spectators on their toes throughout the final round with only one stroke separating each competitor.”
The weather was the tournament was sunny with temperatures in the mid-90s.
Stephanie won the Lancome Irish girls closed championship in July when she beat Victoria Bradshaw (Bangor) 5 and 4 in the final at Malone Golf Club.
