LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR
CLARE QUEEN DID QUALIFY - AND SHE
WON 860 EUROS IN FINLAND
Apologies to Clare Queen for writing her off as failing to beat the 36-hole cut on Saturday in the Finnair Masters at Helsinki Golf Club in Finland.
Clare birdied the last to qualify for the final round by one shot and then she shot a 72 in the third and last round for a total of 220. That gave her a share of 52nd place and earned her 860 Euros.
In her final round, Miss Queen has a double bogey 5 at the short second and then shed further shots at the third and fourth. Then Clare got into her stride with abirdies at the sixth, 10th and 13th before another bogey popped up at the 17th. But she birdied the 18th for the second day in a row so, well done, Clare.
She is 92nd on the Ladies European Tour money list with 13,332 Euros gained from 12 events.
Sadly Lynn Kenny is not doing so well and is danger of having to go back to the Tour School. She missed the cut in Finland and is 134th in the table with 4,017 Euros from 12 events.
By the way, France's Virginie Lagoutte won the Finnair Masters with 68, 68 and 67 for 10-under-par 203. That earned her 30,000 Euros.
She won by two shots from Sweden's Elin Ohlsson who had 67, 70 and 68 to win 20,300 Euros.
Joint third on 208 were Gwladys Nocera (France) with 68, 72 and 689, and Kris Lindstrom (Sweden) with 68, 69 and 71. They each won 12,400 Euros.
