EUROPEAN SENIOR WOMEN'

ENGLAND LOSE FINAL WITH LAST
PUTT ON THE LAST GREEN
England lost 3-2 to France in the final of the European senior women’s amateur team championship at Royal Waterloo Golf Club, Beligum today.
The title decider went down to the last putt on the last green of the last match – it was as close as that.
Each country had 2pt in the bag, with only the Chris Quinn v Claudine Chatrier match to finish. They were all square on the 18th tee of the par-5 finishing hole. Both hit good shots on to the green, about 6ft from the flag.
The French player holed her putt for a birdie 4; Chris Quinn’s putt to halve the hole and go down the 19th lipped out.
Ireland, playing in the three-team Flight 3, lost 3-2 to Netherlands.
