NAIRN GIRL STILL IN FORM

LAURA BREAKS THORNTON COURSE RECORD

Former Scottish girls champion Laura Walker, champion of both Nairn and Nairn Dunbar golf clubs this summer, broke the Thornton Golf Club, Fife women's course record on Sunday.
Laura, who plays off one, had a scratch 64, six under par and three under the previous record set by local club champion Lorna Fury three years ago.
Miss Walker dropped a shot at the fourth but then birdied the sixth, eighth, ninth, 11th, 15th, 16th and 17th in halves of 32 (two under par) and 32 (four under par).
She was competing in the Thornton Women's Open.
