GIRLS' HOME INTERNATIONALS
ENGLAND NAME FOUR NEW CAPS
England has named four new caps in the team to defend the Stroyan Cup at the Girls' Home International Matches at Portstewart Golf Club, Northern Ireland, from August 9-11.
They are: Hannah Burke (Mid-Herts), Rachel Connor (Manchester), Eleanor Givens (Blackwell Grange) and Gemma Hardie (Forest Pines).
They join full international Jodi Ewart (Catterick); the 2005 English U15 champion Hannah Barwood (Knowle); Rachel Jennings (Izaak Walton) who returns to the side after an absence of a year; and Florentyna Parker (Royal Birkdale) who recently reached the quarter-finals of the British amateur championship.
The team, which will be captained by Lisa Ball (Matfen Hall) will be bidding for a seventh consecutive win in the matches.
The non-travelling reserves will be chosen at the completion of the English Girls' Championships at Kings Norton and Kidderminster 1-4 August. Most team members will remain in Northern Ireland to compete in the British Girls' Championship.
