EURO YOUTHS CHAMPIONSHIP

 
SCOTS LOSE IN SEMI-FINALS TO SPAIN 
 
Scotland, the defending champions,  lost 4 1/2-2 1/2 to host nation and favourites Spain in the semi-finals of the European youths team championship at San Roque 2 on the Costa del Sol today.
Lloyd Saltman and Jordan Findlay lost the first foursome 4 and 3. Steven McEwan and Paul O'Hara lost the second foursome 3 and 2.
Then Saltman lost the top singles 2 and 1 for Scotland to fall 0-3 behind.
O'Hara won his tie by one hole but Spain got the clinching point when Scott Henry lost at the 19th to make the scoreline Spain 4, Scotland 1 at that point.
McEwan won 2 and 1 and then Findlay halved the final singles
The final will be between Spain and Italy who were surprise 4-3 winners over England in the second semi-final.
