YATES EARLY LEADER AT HAGGS CASTLE

 

Gordon Yates (Hilton Park) opened up a two-shot lead with a very good round of seven-under-par 65 in the first round of the Cameron Corbett Vase 72-hole open tournament at Haggs Castle Golf Club today.

Mark Kerr (Dalmahoy) was next  best on 67 with Scott Michie (Thornton) and Scottish champion Glenn Campbell (Blairgowrie), who is also the holder of this title, sharing third place on 68.

Campbell made the dash down from Aberdeen after failing to  beat the halfway cut in the Scottish Challenge tournament at Murcar Links on Friday evening.
