WALKER CUP TEENAGER OLIVER FISHER

WINS HIS FIRST BIG TOURNAMENT

 

Walker Cup teenager Oliver Fisher (West Essex) chalked up what should be the first of many big amateur tournament triumphs before he turns professional by making almost the running over the weekend in the St Andrews Links Trophy over the Old and New Courses.

Oliver's total of 280 was seven under par. At the finish, he had two shots to spare from Australian Stephen Dartnall.

Carnoustie youngster Keir McNicoll carried on his good US college circuit form for Lynn University, Baton Rouge in Florida by finishing third on 284.
