PAULL AND WILLIAMSONS RANKINGS

KRYSTLE CAITHNESS IS NEW NUMBER ONE

Krystle Caithness has jumped into a clear lead at the top of the Paull and Williamsons Scottish women's stroke-play golf rankings.
The 17-year-old St Regulus club player won the St Rule Trophy at the weekend with an 11-under-par total over 54 holes.
That has enabled the Waid Academy pupil, who lives at Cellardyke, to move to the top of the rankings with a stroke-play average of (minus) -2.33 against the CSS in the two counting events in which she has played.
Three times Scottish champion Anne Laing (Vale of Leven) is in second place with an average of -1.12.
South Queensferry girl Sally Watson (David Leadbetter Golf Academy), who will be 15 years old next month, comes into the rankings at third place on the strength of her St Rule Trophy scores, the only counting event in which she has played. Sally has an average of -0.66.
British women's open amateur stroke-play champion Heather MacRae (Dunblane New), leader of the rankings prior to the St Rule Trophy, drops back to fourth place on minus 0.37.
The North's top player in the rankings is 15-year-old Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar) who finished sixth overall in the St Rule Trophy and second in the Under-18 section.
Kelsey is ranked eighth.
