MAJORITY OF SCOTS FAIL TO MAKE
IT THROUGH TO MATCH-PLAY
Only a handful of Scots survived the 36-hole qualifying test to decide the 64 qualifiers (and ties) for the match-play stages of the British men’s amateur championship at Royal St George's Golf Club, Sandwich in Kent.

One of the major non-qualifiers was Walker Cup player Lloyd Saltman with 76 and 78 for 154.
