BRITISH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

JAMIESON LONE SCOT IN QUARTER-FINALS
There is only one Scot, Scott Jamieson of Cathkin Braes, in the quarter-final line-up for the British men's amateur championship at Royal St George's Golf Club, Sandwich in Kent.
Jamieson eliminated fellow Scot Bryan Fotheringham (Forres) by 5 and 4 in the fourth round.
In the third round, Duncan Stewart (Grantown on Spey) was beaten 5 and 4 by Ross McGowan, the Englishman who led for most of the way in the recent Scottish open amateur stroke-play championship at Craigielaw.
